Gav is an experienced manual therapist and lecturer of over 20 years, working on developing Soft Tissue Therapy and Sports Therapy within Scottish Colleges throughout the central belt and more recently as part of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI). In 2016, and as programme leader, he was integral in setting up and providing the first Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation degree in Scotland! As a proactive member, and a committee member, of the Scottish Manual Therapy organisation (SMTO), Gav has been fundamental in maintaining the standard of hundreds of manual therapists by assisting in bringing well renowned therapists in their field to Scotland, as well as providing Continued Professional Development himself for many years.

Gav is also a professionally trained Bike Fitter (Healthcare Specific) and is registered with the International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI). By combining his anatomical knowledge of both Body and Bike, this allows him to best fit Body-to-Bike! These years of industry experience have led him more recently, with Body and Bike Therapy Ltd, to providing Clinical Assessments, Treatments, and Professional Bike Fits to clients, as well as Continued Professional Development (CPD) training to manual therapists throughout the length and breadth of  Scotland.

Worthy of note- Gav is a keen cyclist of over 35 years, and has raced road and time trials over many years, where more recently he has turned to Gravel Riding and Bike Packing. Taking in endurance rides such as the Badger Divide and An Turas Mor, he has bigger ambitions for more challenging routes going forward – so watch this space!

This level of cycling experience and knowledge, combined with his healthcare specific approach as a manual therapist, lends itself well to the bespoke Professional Bike Fitting service he provides in collaboration
with Crush Cycles.
